Smart Start Week at TLCA San Angelo High School

Smart Start Week  |  San Angelo TLCA High School

Beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 11th, students at TLCA High School in San Angelo will come to campus in rotations in order to be trained on programs and protocols in place for the 2020-21 school year. Students will receive a paper copy of their Fall 2020 class schedule, whether *virtual or **in-person, while on campus for their Smart Smart Week rotation***.

For Smart Start Week, students will be grouped by classification and alphabetically by last name. Please refer to the information below to know what day and times your student will be expected to be on campus for Smart Start Week.

Once on campus, students will be assigned to a small group in order to practice social distancing as they rotate through 4-5 different classrooms in order to receive a variety of information. Students are encouraged to bring something to write with/on in order to take notes on new information. We ask that students bring with them the technological devices they plan to use for classroom work during the 2020-21 school year so that they can practice logging into and using online resources and troubleshoot potential technological issues.

*In order to best accommodate potential transitions from virtual to in-person learning, and vice-versa, students enrolled in virtual learning will have schedules that look similar to those of students enrolled in in-person learning. Students enrolled in virtual learning will complete classwork asynchronously and will not be required to virtually connect to a classroom despite receiving a schedule with periods that begin and end at specific times.

**Students enrolled in in-person learning will be informed whether they are T-Day students (required to come in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays during the Hybrid Flip Model period) or L-Day students (required to come in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Hybrid Flip Model period).

***Whether they are enrolled in virtual or in-person learning, students will be required to daily complete online assignments in order to be counted present for those days they are working virtually.
