he CyberPatriot field is divided into three divisions – the Open Division for public, private, and home school teams; the All Service Division for JROTC, Civil Air Patrol, and Naval Sea Cadet Corps teams; and the Middle School Division. Based on the results of two preliminary rounds, CyberPatriot X high school teams were categorized within their divisions as Platinum, Gold, or Silver Tier teams, with Platinum Tier teams representing the highest scoring teams.
Led by Coach Becca Levesque, the team of students from TLCA Junior High excelled in the CyberPatriot X State Round held Jan. 19-21, demonstrating teamwork, critical thinking skills, and technical knowledge key to a successful career in cybersecurity. The team’s performance earned it Texas’ 1st Place Award and a spot in the Platinum Tier Semifinal Round held this month.
Applications for the 2017-2018 school year will be available online beginning April 3, 2017. Paper applications will not be used this year. Online applications can be completed on any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection. If you do not have access to the internet, you may come in to any TLCA campus and complete an online application with the Campus Registrar.
The CAP cadets at the Junior High campus have been busy learning to fly. We learn aerospace in the classroom but also put our lessons to use in a CAP plane where the students are given lessons from a well trained CAP pilot. What an opportunity for these students!
Intent to Return notification is underway. Our preferred method of completing the Intent to Return form is accessing this form on your campus’ website. By completing this form online you are either RESERVING your current student’s spot for the 2017-2018 school year, or you are letting us know that your student WILL NOT be returning for the 2017-2018 school year. If you do not have access to the internet, you may request a form in the office of your student’s school. Whichever method you choose for Intent to Return notification, this must be completed by March 3, 2017. You could be forfeiting your student’s spot by not responding to this request
Students involved in any extracurricular activities or that park their vehicle on campus are required to participate in random drug testing. Attached you will find the authorization form. This form is due by Friday, October, 28, 2016. Students will become ineligible to participate in extracurricular activities and/or park on campus Monday, October 31, 2016 if this form is not returned. If you have a student that does not participate in any extracurricular activity or park on campus you may choose to have them included in the random drug testing by completing this form as well.
