Texas Leadership is proud to introduce you to another one of our students. Say hello to Steven (Wesley) Hale, who is an 8th grade student at Texas Leadership of San Angelo (TLCA). Wesley is a piano prodigy who began playing at the young age of 4 and whose talent has opened many doors. He learned to read music before he learned to read books, and hopes that in sharing his talent he’s able to inspire other young people to use their strengths to bless others.
Recently he was sought out by a producer in the Cagayan Philippines and asked to be a part of a very unique Virtual Benefit Concert. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help both musicians and their families whose lives were turned upside down in the most recent typhoons that struck the Philippines. Wesley is both the youngest musician, and the only American that was invited to participate.
“When I was asked to be a part I just felt very honored; and so of course I immediately said yes!” Wesley shared with us. “These musicians and their families lost everything and much of the Cagayan region was completely under water. Being able to help means that they will be able to have a Christmas Eve meal (called Noche Buena). I hope that others are able to give as well!”
Wesley has loved music for as long as he can remember and says that there is no greater joy, for him, than to get to do what he loves and find ways to help those around him.
