TLCA San Angelo Collects Items For "Operation Christmas Child"

It's Day 4️ of #NationalSchoolChoiceWeek and today we shine a light on the heart and Servant Leadership of our students this past October/November. All three campuses (Elementary, Junior High and High School) came together to collect toys/toiletries/fun gifts, pack boxes and then ship Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to children across the world to bless them for Christmas. This is TLCA San Angelo's 4th year to participate in this program.

Together the campuses raised a combined $1,812.00 which helped to cover the cost for shipping as well as purchase extra items for packing.

Students were also able to hear from Representatives from the organization about how OCC is impacting the lives of people everywhere. In the past, students have heard from one of the recipient children (now an adult), whose life was directly impacted by receiving a shoebox in her village.

Our very own Civil Air Patrol (CAP) students picked up and delivered the boxes to the headquarters. There, they were greeted by our local news station, ConchoValleyHomepage.com -- check out the story below:

We love the hearts of those who lead our Lighthouse and Action Committees. They truly are making an impact both in the classroom, and in life.
